Booking Conditions For Expeditions
All our expeditions require a minimum of 4 people booked on it in order it to run. In the event that there are insufficient numbers booked on to your chosen expedition date, you will be given the option to transfer your booking to another date at no additional cost or be given a full refund.
Payment
You can secure your place by paying a deposit using our online store. Full payment is due 8 weeks before the start of your expedition (online deposits will change to full price if it is within 8 weeks of departure). Your final balance can be paid by bank transfer – we’ll let you know the details.
Cancellation
If you can no longer make your expedition we will do our best to move your booking to another date. If you decide to cancel your booking then the following charges will apply. More than 56 days prior to the start date – 10%, 28 to 56 days 40%, 14 to 27 days 60%, 7 to 13 days 75%. Anything less than 7 days and full payment will be retained.
If we have to cancel your booking for any reason we will try to find and alternative date for you, if this is not possible then a full refund will be issued. Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that expeditions actually run, we reserve the right to vary or cancel any course if this should become necessary due to dangerous or unsuitable conditions beyond our control.
Risk Acknowledgement
Many of the expeditions offered by Black Grouse are physically demanding and therefore, you should ensure that you have an adequate level of fitness for the activities chosen. If you have a pre-existing medical condition or you are pregnant you are strongly advised to seek your doctors advice and to inform us before booking. Any medical information given is strictly confidential.
All participants must complete a medical and disclaimer form before taking part in any activities. Any person who does not complete a medical form cannot participate in any activities.
All participants must comply with safety regulations and instructions given by Black Grouse staff. Should an instructor find that course member(s) is/are being disruptive or jeopardizing the safety of others and themselves, that person(s) will be asked to leave the course and no refund given.
Privacy Policy
Black Grouse treats all customer information as strictly confidential. Information will not be passed on to third parties however, Black Grouse may use information relating to any purchases you make of our goods and/or services or any other transactions that you enter into through our website (including your name, address, telephone number & email address) to contact you with future promotions or purchases.
Age Restrictions
For our open expeditions all participants must be over the age of 18. For our private expeditions all participants must be over the age of 14 with a supervising ratio of one adult for every two under 18s. Our family fun sessions are available to participants seven years old and up, anyone 11 or under can share a paddle board with a responsible adult, supervising ratios are one adult for every child 11 or under, one adult for every two children aged 12 to 17.
